Naturism is practiced in many ways. For most naturists the family or the local club is the focal point for their nude life. But sometimes it cam be fun and exciting to participate in something greater.

All around the world there are numbers of naturist activities. Probably the best known is "World Naked Bike Ride" (WNBR) - independent arrangementets in cities all over the world in the beginning of June (in the southern hemisphere it is in the beginning og March).

In most of the bike rides the participants are not stark naked in order to avoid troubles with authorities. And many participants are body-painted.

WNBR has many messages, varying from ride to ride. It is mainly about environmental responsibility, biking as an alternative to motoring and of course about body acceptance.

Until now no cities in Denmark has participated in WNBR, but in 2008 a ride in Copenhagen is announced.

Another, not as well known and not as heavily exposed arrangement is "World Naked Gardening Day" (WNGD). It is allways in the fi/images/imagesrst saturday in May that naturiss works naked in the garden - and the garden may be a small window box, a back garden or the city park - dressed as nature intended. Contrary to WNBR the WNGD has no clear message. It is just about enjoying nude life in the garden.

Nany festivals has a tradition for nudity. Most well-knows is "The Burning Man" held in Black Rock in the desert of Nevada in the end of August. In four days tens of thousands of participants builds a city in the middle of the naked desert. The city is filled with artistic installations and thematic camps. Both installations and themes often includes costumes, and often the costume is just painted on the nude body. Burning Man is not exactely a naturist arrangement, but it is definitely "clothing optional".

In Denmark many of the largest music festivals has a tradition for skinny-dipping. Especially Skanderborg and Roskilde Festival. And on Roskilde Festival the yearly nude-run arranged by the festival-radio is known far from Roskilde and Denmark.
